Make Your Mark winners 2023

Eight Utah students have each won a $1,000 college savings scholarship in the 2023 Make Your Mark bookmark contest. The contest, sponsored by my529, invited students throughout the state to create an original bookmark design.

Winning entries were chosen by judges, with two winners from each of four age categories.

Grades K-3

The winners in grades K-3 were Greta, a first-grade student at Rosamond Elementary School in Jordan School District; and Audrey, a second-grade student at Freedom Elementary School in Alpine School District. Entries were judged by Autumn Slade, environmental educator and naturalist at Ogden Nature Center.

Grades 4-6

Natalie, a fifth-grade student from Freedom Elementary School in Alpine School District, whose entry was selected by Utah First Lady Abby Cox; and Judd, also a fifth-grade student from Freedom Elementary School in Alpine School District, whose entry was selected by Utah Governor Spencer Cox, were the winners for Grades 4-6.

Grades 7-8

Winners in grades 7-8 are Boone, an eighth-grader at Mount Ogden Junior High in Ogden School District, and Maggie, an eighth-grader at Lakeridge Junior High in Alpine School District. Entries for this category were selected by Utah-based artist Colour Maisch.
