my529 Gift Program now allows debit cards for family, friend contributions (FAN Fall 2023)

The holidays are almost upon us. Think about recommending the my529 Gift Program to your clients to help facilitate their shopping and their 529 savings.

If your client has given you Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA) access with level 2 or higher, you have the ability to enable their gift code within your online advisor access. They can share the gift code to allow family and friends to contribute securely to their my529 account.

my529 now provides the option of using a debit card to make contributions through the Gift Program. A my529 gift contribution can be made easily online and saves the stress of trying to pick out the perfect gift for a loved one.

Gift contributions are completed safely and securely online through the gifting platform at my529. Most major debit cards are accepted. For your client’s convenience, the debit card gifting option offers four preset dollar amounts for their loved ones to choose. The processor of the debit card contribution charges a small fee to provide security and protection. The fee corresponds to the amount gifted.

Feel free to share the Account Owner Gift Program Guide with your clients, or refer them to gift.my529.org.
