About the board

The Utah Education Savings Board of Trustees is authorized to exercise the responsibilities and functions outlined in Utah Code Ann. section 53B-8a-105, including acting as a fiduciary of my529 and its account owners. The board shall provide oversight and governance of my529. In accordance with the Utah Code, the board has the authority for strategic planning, budget approval, and adopting program policies and administrative rules.

The board’s duties, responsibilities, funds, liabilities, and expenses in oversight and governance of my529 shall be maintained separate and apart from the duties, responsibilities, funds, liabilities, and expenses of the Utah Board of Higher Education (“UBHE”).

The board is comprised of seven members appointed by UBHE.

Board meeting agendas and minutes

The Utah Education Savings Board of Trustees meetings are generally open to the public, although specific portions may be closed. Board meetings are not public hearings. Members of the public may address the board only with specific authorization from the board chair prior to the meeting. Seating will be limited to the room’s capacity, and seats will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meetings are held 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
