Need to revoke LPOA with a former client?

Here’s a quick guide to make it easy

Over the course of an advisor relationship, it’s not uncommon for a client to move on for any number of reasons. However, while the partnership may be over, there are often certain loose ends to take care of — including revoking Limited Power of Attorney access.

Though this is something that usually falls under the client’s responsibility, you can do this on behalf of a former client, expediting the process.

Just fill out Form 720, “Entity Limited Power of Attorney Revocation,” and sign on behalf of the client.

Note that you can only fill out Form 720 if you have an advisor signature on file. If you don’t have a signature on file, it’s easy to set that up as well. Find, fill out and submit Form 730, “Entity Limited Power of Attorney Signature Card.”
