my529 changes name of single-fund portfolio available in Customized options

As part of my529’s fiduciary responsibility to our account owners, we closely monitor plan offerings. After a long evaluation of a trend in one of the funds available in the Customized investment options, my529 changed the portfolio’s name to highlight the fund’s strategy.

Effective July 1, 2025, the name of the my529 Five-Year Global Fixed Income (UTDFX) single-fund portfolio became my529 Variable Five-Year Global Fixed Income.

The underlying fund for the my529 Variable Five-Year Global Fixed Income portfolio is the Dimensional Fund Advisors Five-Year Fixed Income Portfolio (DFGBX). The underlying Dimensional fund retains its original name. View the Dimensional fund’s prospectus.

Of note:

my529 account owners who hold this investment have been notified and do not need to do anything. We want to make advisors aware of the change in case any of your clients have questions.

As the duration of the Five-Year Global Fixed Income currently performs closer to a one-year duration, my529 chose to add the word “variable” to the fund name to reflect the flexibility of the duration of the fund more accurately.

There are no changes to the fund’s holdings or strategy. The only change is to the my529 portfolio name.

The ticker for my529 Variable Five-Year Global Fixed Income will remain as UTDFX.
