Fees and Expenses
my529 fees are some of the lowest in the 529 industry.
my529’s Asset-Based Fee structure has two parts:
- The Underlying Fund Expenses of the underlying investments.
- The my529 Administrative Asset Fee, which pays for operating expenses.
Together these make up the total annual Asset-Based Fee for your my529 account.
Underlying Fee Expense
Vanguard, Dimensional, and PIMCO charge an Underlying Fund Expense for each underlying fund. Depending on which investment option you select for your account, the Underlying Fund Expenses range from:

Underlying Fund Expenses are accrued and deducted from the applicable underlying funds’ NAV by Vanguard, Dimensional and PIMCO and do not appear on my529 quarterly account statements. View the Vanguard, Dimensional and PIMCO Underlying Fund Expenses.
FDIC-Insured Savings:
There is no Underlying Fund Expense assessed on FDIC-insured accounts.
Administrative Asset Fee
This annual fee is charged to your account by my529. The Administrative Asset Fee accrues daily and is reflected in the NAV for each investment option and each underlying investment offered within Customized investment options.
The fee ranges from 0.100 percent to 0.130 percent ($1 to $1.30 per $1,000 invested), depending on which Enrollment Date, Static, or Customized investment option you select for your account.
