my529 joins national campaign to promote saving for higher education
Do your children or grandchildren love “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”? my529 has partnered with Fred Rogers Productions, creators of the animated PBS series, for a national campaign to help parents prepare their children for higher education.
As part of the campaign, the College Savings Plans Network (CSPN) has published The Roadmap For Their Future, a guide for children from infants to high school seniors to help families financially prepare for college. my529 is a member organization of CSPN.
The free guide is available for download at 529forcollege.com. It includes interactive activities for children, ideas to encourage thinking about future careers, suggestions to mark and honor areas of success and strategies to teach children of all ages about money.
The Roadmap is CSPN’s latest initiative after launching the campaign in March 2019 with ads on “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.”
The goal of my529 and CSPN is to encourage families to invest for higher education and reduce reliance on student loans, including the interest that comes with those loans.
529forcollege.com also features a “How Much Could You Save” college savings calculator, more basic information and quizzes on 529 plans, Daniel Tiger coloring sheets and “A Tigertastic Activity” to help children learn generosity.
