It’s easy to contribute your Utah tax refund to your account
Utah taxpayers can provide a boost to their my529 accounts via their state income tax refund. Account owners have the option of contributing all or part of their 2020 Utah state income tax refund directly into their my529 account(s).
On web-based programs such as TurboTax and on Utah tax form TC-40, enter the amount of the refund you decide to send to your my529 account(s).
For those who own more than one account, the tax refund contribution will be distributed equally among all individual accounts. The same applies to married couples who file taxes jointly.
Tax refunds can be contributed only to individual accounts and not to institutional or UGMA/UTMA accounts.
